On The Seventh Day of Christmas - Banished

BANISHED

Like many Civ styled games Banished has that great element of "just 5 more minutes please" as you watch your tiny encampment of survivors grow and build into a small town. This is then cut short as they all die in the first winter because you don't know how to run a small town. Seriously though the game play loops in Banished are very satisfying. From resource gathering to building, crops, farm animals, dealing with population growth/loss, disasters, education - Banished gives you the tools to make it all work. It also gives you the ability to hoist yourself and have it all end in calamity, and every time you can look back and see exactly where you got careless or most often too bold and it spelled doom for the tiny people under your care. But I found it so much fun starting over is just as good as continuing on and with Steam Workshop support you can modify and tailor the experience to get exactly what you want out of it. 10/10 Would get banished again.
