The Third Day of Christmas - The Swapper

THE SWAPPER

What starts out as a puzzle platformer with an unique aesthetic, The Swapper quickly becomes something deeper, darker and even a little philosophical. Using an alien device you can make copies of yourself to solve puzzles and navigate the world, a world that looks composed of half claymation and half junk art vignettes. There is a visual depth to the world of The Swapper that gives it a dark claustrophobic feel. The puzzles were just the right difficulty for me, only a few were brain busters. The story is handed out via found log recordings and that is the icing on The Swapper cake as these small narrative bits really push how you think about what the game is having you do in interesting ways. And the ending is real good too.
